The Gut, the Bad, and the Ugly

Chronic enteropathies: We will overview the gastrointestinal tract with a focus on the immune system and discuss treatments including dietary management, medications, and alternative therapies as well as a discussion on canine breed specific enteropathies.

Oh Sugar, Managing Diabetics

Managing the Diabetic: We will discuss the role of diet and exercise in the management of the diabetic as well as cover oral hypoglycemics and the various insulin products available for both canine and feline diabetics.

Urinary Tract Nutraceuticals

Nutraceuticals and urinary tract disorders:  We will overview nutraceuticals in general and discuss their use in animals with chronic urinary tract infections and urinary incontinence with a focus on the data that supports or refutes their use. 

Speaker: Dr. Tanya Donovan, DVM, DACVIM (Internal Medicine)
Dr Donovan is a board certified specialist in small animal internal medicine. She received her degree in veterinary medicine at Tufts University in 2004. Having a strong interest in the pursuit of an internal medicine residency, she entered and completed a one year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Angel Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. The completion of her internship lead to acceptance into a residency program in small animal internal medicine and a return to Tufts University. In 2008, Dr Donovan completed her residency and passed the certification to become board certified in internal medicine.
