Kidpower Safety Workshop for ages 5-8 with their adults in Palo Alto, CA

This *Reduced Cost* Training Class will be presented by a Kidpower Instructor Candidate working toward completing Kidpower certification along with a trainer-level instructor assessing and supporting. This means that the workshop will be led by a less experienced instructor but will be overseen by one of our most experienced instructors, who will also be available to answer questions during the break and immediately after the workshop.

“Our family had fun, and we use what we learned every day!”
Protect your child from harm and gain valuable tools for building better relationships. Children together with their adults learn age-appropriate Kidpower "People Safety" skills and how to practice them as a team. We introduce skills that children can use every day to feel safer and more confident in dealing with people at home, on the playground, and out and about in the world.

Using games, role-plays, and stories relevant to younger children, we’ll practice skills to:

  • Be and act aware and confident
  • Check with adults if anything seems unsafe
  • Move away from possible problems
  • Follow Stranger Safety rules
  • Stay safe from hurtful words
  • Use voice as a safety tool
  • Set clear boundaries• Make safety plans so outings are more fun
  • Say “No” or “Stop” clearly and respectfully
  • Deal with other kids poking, pushing, grabbing, etc.
  • Use safety plans if you’re lost in a store, park, or library
  • Get help from busy adults - and persist!

Workshop Fee: $60/child (includes accompanying adults with that child)
Pre-registration is required as there is limited space.

This workshop is not appropriate for infants or children younger than 5 years old.
Please arrange child care prior to the workshop.

Donations over the amount of workshop fees are tax-deductible. We do not turn anyone away from our public workshops for lack of money. Scholarship information is available on our website.
