Costume Society of America Western Region Event 

 

As a special CSA event, we will have "A Conversation with Neal Barr" , an interview with the photographer about his career in commercial and fashion photography as well as his passion for collecting 1920s fashion.  He currently has a book in-press featuring his photographs of that collection.  While at the museum, we will also have the opportunity to view some of the 1960's to 1980's costumes from the museum's collections in a small exhibition entitled "In Style"

We will serve light refreshments, and after the event, please enjoy Ventura's quaint restaurants and shops.  As most of you know, Ventura suffered one of the largest wildfires in California's history, and her small businesses were especially hurt by the loss of revenue while the wild fire raged and our town was inundated with smoke.  So please come visit our still beautiful town, enjoy a special event at the museum, a delicious lunch at one of Ventura's small restaurants, and some shopping in her fabulous artisinal, vintage and thrift shops.
