The Be Wilderness Smart program teaches skills necessary for traveling in the Alaska backcountry safely. Topics include trip planning, understanding weather factors, terrain management, human factors, and emergency response. This program is made possible from a grant by the Department of Public Safety Division of Alaska State Troopers and will provide you with an introduction to safe wilderness travel and build the confidence you need to get outdoors and enjoy Alaska safely. This interactive program is ideal for families and individuals of all ages.
