Protecting and Preparing Our
Workplaces for Occupancy

June 16, 2020

NJ IFMA Welcomes Philadelphia, Delaware and New York City IFMA Chapters!

Chapter Members, please register as a “Member”

Description:  Join NJ IFMA for our June Chapter Meeting via Zoom.  This meeting features three Subject Matter Experts and On-line Q&A.

Topic:  Protecting Our People and Preparing Our Workplaces for Post COVID-19 Crisis Occupancy

This meeting, featuring Q&A from participants, will feature three SME's to inform and educate our FM community on "Best Practices" for facilities to utilize for epidemiology (disease spread control in your occupant population) and implementation of OSHA 3990 Guidance on Preparing Workplaces for COVID-19.  Both items are key topics that Facility Managers, Supporting Engineering Resources and Design Associates should understand to implement plans to support the opening of our buildings and facilities after the COVID-19 related occupancy restrictions are lifted.

NJ IFMA has invited three experienced and talented subject matter experts to discuss the following:

Key Discussion Topics:

Epidemiology Training for Facility Managers
  • What are the key points all facility leaders should understand relative to COVID-19 disease spread prevention amongst your facility occupant population?
  • What are the critical behaviors that facility occupants should implement to prevent COVID-19 spread?
  • What are best practices for employee screening, COVID-19 contact screening and quarantine?

OSHA Guidance on Preparing Workplaces for COVID-19

  • An overview of the newly created "OSHA Guidance Document 3990-03 2020" created by OSHA to help employers plan to implement engineering, administrative and work practice controls to address the challenges of COVID-19 to our facility and business operations.
  • Per OSHA this guidance is designed for use of employers to identify risk levels in their workplace and determine appropriate control measures to implement.

Time will be allocated for participant questions and answers.

  • Brian P. Morrill, CHMM, CIT, GZA Associate Principal/EHS Practice Lead
  • Cheryl B. Phoenix, AGNP-BC, Director of Nursing, Cliffside Rehabilitation and Health Center, Queens, NY
