Sunday FUNDAY & Open House
April 7, 2019  1:00 - 3:00 pm

Ever wish that YOU could go to school at Friends Academy with your children?

Does your child want to try something new?

Has your child ever wondered what it would be like to try Stop-Motion Animation with Mr. Felix? Do they crave extra time to Get Up & Move with Mr. Williams?  Are they an avid reader looking for that next book to sink into? Have they ever experienced the clever wit of Mr. Beyer while Building a Catapult? Does your little one want to discover the wonders of the Early Childhood Farmhouse? Well get ready for Sunday FUNDAY!  It’s you and your child’s chance to spend some extra time trying activities that they love or wish they could try!

Our Sunday FUNDAY & Open House invites parents and children to explore inquiry-based activities with teachers from grades Pre-K - 8. This family-friendly event is for everyone; both current families and prospective families alike!

What does a FunDay look like?

From 1:00 - 3:00 on Sunday, April 7, we're offering short sessions of: Stop-Motion Animation, Creative Art Zone, Create-A-Catapult, Drumming, Get Up & Move Fitness, and more!  We want to create an atmosphere where current students can enjoy time doing things they haven't tried (or get to know other teachers) AND give the community a chance to experience what makes Friends Academy such an amazing place.

We're even hosting a drop-in "Book Tasting." Our fantastic librarian will be setting up tables where you can sample and "taste" different types of books! From "appetizers" to "main courses," we're sure that you'll find something to dig in to!

The Sally Borden Program will be offering sessions dedicated specifically to those curious about their program. Mini-sessions will cover Orton-Gillingham (the foundation of our literacy program), a Middle-School Math session, as well as a session that targets Social-Emotional Learning.

Registration is encouraged so that we make sure we have enough room and materials to accommodate everyone. The first session runs from 1:15-2:00 and the second from 2:15-3:00. You can certainly wander and check various activities out, but those who reserve a spot will be guaranteed a place.

Our Open House will be going on at the same time, and The Commons will be buzzing with activity and information about all the wonderful things that FA has to offer.

We hope you'll spread the word and invite others to this event. This day is a great, low pressure way to learn more about our independent school while having some educational fun.

We hope you'll join us!
