Our special guest will be Dr. Lynne Cheney accompanied by her husband, former Vice President Dick Cheney and Susan Ford Bales. Dr. Cheney will discuss the influential role of the First Ladies and how they have and will shape history. In her recent book "James Madison: A Life Reconsidered", Dr. Cheney shows Madison's long and loving relationship with Dolley Madison, one of the most glamorous women of the age. She brought to their marriage a social instinct that matched his political gifts and helped him become President. At the same time, she created her own place in history.
Dr. Cheney and Vice President Dick Cheney will also share their personal stories and insight from a decades-long friendship with First Lady Betty Ford.
Some of the past speakers in this luncheon series have included: First Lady Rosalynn Carter (2014), and First Ladies Laura Bush and Barbara Bush (2013).
