The presentation will focus on the unique structural design challenges associated with the design of this new landmark building on campus.  Structural design topics will include the high capacity pile foundation system, lateral force resisting system, and the exposed-to-view steel trusses and connection detailing.  The presentation will also focus on the importance of the collaboration between OEI and Ballinger structural engineers, the enhanced coordination between the structural engineers and the construction manager/steel fabricator, and the high level of importance assigned to communication between the design team and the special inspectors on site.
