Join us for diving deeply into the practice of Esalen Massage as we move beyond the basics and into the more advanced philosophy and practices that make Esalen Massage world renowned. Robin and Ellen have over 50 years combined experience in the healing arts and teaching, and are sure to bring you an inspiring and dynamic week of Esalen Massage, self-care and healing practices.
This week will be an opportunity for massage practitioners who have already had some training in Esalen Massage to learn more advance philosophies and bodywork techniques that inform the Esalen approach.
As our massage practice deepens we are called to listen more deeply with all of our senses and become more present to what our clients bodies are telling us, so we can address deep holding patterns of stress, tension, and injury. You will be introduced to a variety of ways to approach the body in deeper, and more subtle ways, and to attune to what your client needs. Within the flow of the Esalen style, we will teach a variety of techniques from deep tissue, passive joint articulation, stretching, energy work, sound and breath to address the needs of each individual client. We will use the practice of massage to open and deepen our own self awareness, as we connect with our clients and ourselves in a profound way.
This retreat will take place at the beautiful Wysteria Inn, in downtown Weaverville (10 minutes from Asheville), where you will feel like you are far from the rest of the world with the wonderful private gardens and workshop space. This week will be designed as a retreat, not only for learning, but for the participants to focus on self care, self reflection, and rejuvenation. Healthy nutritious lunches will be provided each day, and we will have time to rest, be in nature, and connect with one another in a meaningful way. On Thursday afternoon we will take a trip to Hot Springs, NC and experience the natural hot springs tubs.
Limited Housing is available on a first come first serve basis.
