MDRT Speaks - Best ideas from top advisors!

 Delynn Alexander & Reena Bland

In a career spanning nearly 25 years, Delynn Dolan Alexander, Reena Patel Bland, and Alexander Financial Services have built a reputation as one of the nation’s leading wealth management firms.

Their North Carolina-based practice, in partnership with other financial advisors throughout the country, serve over 2,000 clients across the globe, manage more than $200 million in assets and produce more than $3 million in annual revenues.

For Alexander, wealth management is a family tradition. Her mother, Elaine Dolan, was a legendary 30-year Northwestern Mutual financial advisor in Texas whose loyal clientele transferred to Alexander when Dolan retired. But for Alexander, wealth management is not just a family business. It’s a personal mission. When Alexander’s father died when she was six, he left her mother with two children, debt and a life insurance policy that had expired just months before his death. From this experience, Alexander has made it her life’s work to make a difference in other families’ lives by giving them the gift of financial security.

Alexander has deep ties to Northwestern Mutual. She began her career as a college intern with the company in 1989. After graduation she became a full-time representative in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas. Over the next decade and a half, she grew a strong personal practice while leading the company’s college internship program in Fort Worth. Because of her success, Alexander was recruited to the home office in Milwaukee, where she served a three-year stint as a consultant in the recruiting and college marketing area. In 1996, she was appointed as the managing director in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and ran a top district office for five years. During that stent, Alexander recruited, now business partner and Co-founder, Reena Patel Bland.

Bland began her career through the internship program in 1997 and was part of the Leading College Internship program in 1998. Upon graduation, she grew a strong personal MDRT based practice while leading up the College Internship program at The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

In 2001, Delynn & Reena stepped down from their respective management roles and began a comprehensive financial planning practice. In addition to their achievements in personal production, they jointly lead a team of 10 representatives as field directors/mentors. And coach 12 advisors across the NM system. Under their leadership, several have become PS First 40 and Second 60, MDRT, Forum and Pathfinder qualifiers.

Their firm consistently rates in the top 1% among Northwestern Mutual’s 8,000 practices nationwide. Every year since 2001, AFS has qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table, the last four, Top of the Table. Ten times, their practice has achieved Forum Recognition.

Their most recent successes highlight, AFS as the first female team to produce over $1M of Core Premium and $1M of Gross Dealer Commissions, in the history of The Northwestern Mutual.

Their partnership has been showcased most recently in “Women at the Top” written by Arthea Reed and Diane Dixon, leading female industry leaders and they are delivering their message at the NAIFA association annual meeting in September amongst other network offices through the year.

Delynn is married to Mike. They have two children: Ellie (9) and Lucas (7)

Reena is married to Ward. They have two children: Raja (10) and Naya (8)
