Justice-Involved Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities: Addressing the Needs of Individuals who have a Developmental Disability and a Mental Illness
Individuals with Dual Diagnosis tend to fall in a gray area of treatment. Service providers, law enforcement, and mental health professionals are often unsure how to effectively interact with this population. As a result, care for these individuals can be challenging. This full-day conference will focus on providing an overview of Dual Diagnosis and effective methods of working with people with mental health and developmental disabilities among social services, law enforcement, and other professionals in the field
