The most asked question heard from women urban farmsteaders, farmers and homesteaders is, “How can I make a living at what I love to do?”. Women earn 25 cents for every man’s dollar in the farm industry but that doesn’t pay the bills. Women have to figure out the rules for running a successful business, and using their resources to earn a living wage. To begin to answer that question Women Grow Ohio has put together the workshop series “After Chores” that focuses on topics like: identifying resources for making a living, how to price products so they make a profit, and how to market in a way that generates the right customers and consumers. The workshops will be lead by women who ARE earning a living at farming, and know a few of the ins and outs of creating a business that keeps on doing well year after year.
