Friends and colleagues:
Please save the date of March 20th for the next meeting of the Colorado Emergency Preparedness Partnership (CEPP) to be held in metro Denver at the University of Denver campus. It's our first meeting of the year in metro Denver. We will discuss the issues and ramifications surrounding an attack on a "soft target", much like the infamous Mumbai, India attacks of 2008, the more recent Kenya shopping mall attack of 2013r even the Aurora theater shooting of July 2012. The rise of these soft- target attacks and those on schools can cause a Our panel will include emergency management, law enforcement and private sector officials who manage the operations or security at the Pepsi Center, TIAA Cref, the Brown Palace, and the Cherry Creek Shopping Center. What have they learned from Mumbai and Kenya, and how would they deal with the chaos caused by similar situations? How must they plan and prepare for such tragic events? Whether you operate a business, are an emergency manager or a member of law enforcement, this meeting will provide helpful information about a pressing security concern we face today. John Mencer
