OCAEYC presents: The Essentials of a Parent Handbook

OCAEYC will present a workshop on Parent Handbook Essentials. The Parent Handbook is used to inform parents of their responsibilities for their children’s childcare needs. In addition, it serves as an informational guide to the Center’s responsibilities to the children and their parents. This professional development will assist you with the following objectives:

· Understanding important elements of a parent handbook

· Participate in creating a parent handbook Google folder to share ideas and handbooks

· Have a forum to ask their questions regarding parent handbooks

Facilitator Bio:

Dr. Cheryl Sosa is currently the Early Childhood Education Coordinator for Orange Unified School District. Dr. Sosa’s education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in Teaching and Learning in a Global Society, and a Doctorate in Education, with a focus on Organizational Leadership. She holds a Program Director permit, Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and a Clear Administrative Services Credential. In addition to her work with Orange Unified, she continues to grow the early learning workforce by serving as a professional growth advisor for the Orange County Department of Education’s Workforce Pathway’s grant. She also serves on OCAEYC’s Board as the co-chair of Interest Groups and on the Awards and Grants Committee.
