  • Discuss key policies every employer should include in its employee handbook, explain the importance of updating and keeping handbooks current, and the proper steps in updating handbooks.

Medical Marijuana and Concealed Carry in the Workplace

  • Discuss the procedural history and the process of qualifying for medical marijuana and concealed carry, the demands and boundaries that accompany to those qualified, and identify areas of concern and areas of improvement over the next five years.
Affordable Care Act Update: Year One
  • Understand recent Supreme Court decisions, legislative updates, and IRS Notices related to the Affordable Care Act and discuss potential changes to the Affordable Care Act with respect to the 2016 presidential election.
  • Understand challenges for employers from the first year of reporting and tips for moving forward with compliance.

The ADA and FMLA; Recent Developments, New Cases and Timely Tips for Employers

  • Learn about recent amendment to FMLA and ADA statutes and regulations, provide guidance for employers to avoid "pitfalls" in circumstances involving the frequent interaction of FMLA and the ADA in employment decisions, and receive practical tips for employers to avoid liability for employment decisions relating to employees protected by the ADA and/or FMLA.
