 'WILD About Insects'

Workshop for Teachers

Discover how insects play many important roles in an ecosystem as we explore local field sites through hands-on learning activities! This experiential professional development workshop, designed for K-12 teachers, will provide you with the opportunity to:

  • Build up your background knowledge for teaching about insects in place-based settings.
  • Learn new academic activities and investigative teaching techniques from the recently updated 'Project WILD Guide' (honey bees, monarchs, and dragonflies- OH MY!).
  • Take home instructional resources and tools for teaching both inside and outside of the classroom.

Delta OUT

  • This workshop is part of the ‘Delta Outdoor Understanding for Teachers’ professional development program.  Delta and Olathe area teachers attending this workshop, plus two other 1-day OUT workshops are eligible for CPW-site field trip transportation matching grants and equipment loans.  To learn more about the Delta OUT program, contact Catherine Brons or Anita Evans.
