2012 New Jersey League of Municipalities Conference and Sustainable Jersey Luncheon Cancelled
The 2012 NJLM Conference in Atlantic City November 13-15 has been cancelled due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy as well as the impending noreaster later this week. As a result, Sustainable Jersey has also cancelled its annual awards luncheon on November 13, 2012. This is a very unfortunate time for our state, and our thoughts go out to all those affected. We understand the League’s reasons behind their decision to cancel this event, and encourage community support to help those in need get through this difficult time. Sustainable Jersey would still like to recognize all of its registered towns, and those certified this year. Plans to do so will continue to evolve in the coming weeks, and we will keep you updated on our progress in this endeavor. We appreciate your understanding as we work to determine how best to recognize our members’ achievements from the past year.
Lastly, Rivanna Natural Designs, the company that produces our certification plaques, has generously offered to provide replacement plaques to municipalities whose plaques may have been lost or destroyed as a result of Hurricane Sandy. If your municipality has a lost or damaged plaque, please contact Samantha McGraw at 609-771-2938 or email her at info@sustainablejersey.com to discuss plaque replacement.
Again, thank you for your understanding as we continue to make notifications surrounding the NJLM conference and Sustainable Jersey luncheon cancellation, and we work toward determining how we will recognize our towns certified this past year.
