 Meet of our panelists:


Carol L. Obermeier, Director, Air Service Development at Southwest Florida International Airport   As the director of air service development, Carol Obermeier works to promote increased passenger air service and cargo activity at Southwest Florida International Airport (SWFIA).  Her office also represents the Port Authority in the local, state, national and international travel and tourism industries as well as within local economic development, business and governmental groups. Carol holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.  She worked as a customer service representative for United Airlines before joining the Port Authority in 1994 as an airport operations agent.  She joined the air service development department in 2000 as air service development coordinator, was promoted to senior manager in 2006 and in 2008 Carol was promoted to her current position as director of air service development.

Florice Hodges, Public Relations Director at Best Home Services. I  was born & raised in Iran.  I came to US as an exchange student in 1978.   My career right after college started with Carrier corporation.  After Carrier I joined Trane for 17 years as a territory manager. Last October I took an early retirement to join my husband and brother in law @ Best Home Services. Best Home Services currently has over 100 trained employees who are ready to serve our communities form Naples to Sarasota with their air condition, electrical and plumbing needs.

Julio Barina, Markham Norton Mosteller Wright & Company, P.A.  Julio is a graduated of Thomas Edison State College in Trenton, New Jersey, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Florida and New Jersey and has over 18 years of public accounting experience.  In 2013 Julio joined the team of Markham Norton Mosteller Wright & Company as a tax manager. He specializes in construction and service companies.  Julio serves as the vice president on the board of directors for Dress for Success of Southwest Florida. He is an active member of the Lee Building Industry Association and is on the board of directors for both the Cape Coral Construction Industry Association and Lighthouse of SWFL.

 

Emcee: Sue Huff is the owner of E. Sue Huff & Associates, Inc. - Marketing and Management Consulting. Her firm targets small to mid-sized businesses in Southwest Florida along with various local charities.  As a business owner and entrepreneur for over 35 years, Sue is known for her creative ideas, enthusiasm, hard work and professionalism.  Sue’s career began in the newspaper industry and by the age of 30, she was the managing partner of a chain of commercial print shops in Cincinnati, Ohio. After building a successful operation and selling her partnership, she accepted a senior management position with the City of Cincinnati before venturing to Naples to start her consulting business. Schooled in communications, marketing, graphics arts, broadcasting, photography and theatre, Sue also produced an award-winning television show; trained staff in various business topics; been a guest columnist for local media; and has been a presenter/guest speaker for numerous business organizations both locally and out of state.  Sue has organized and led a free marketing seminar for local non-profits during the summer for the past six years. Sue is known as an energetic speaker, trainer, and emcee.

 Kim Escarra, Branch Manager/Senior Loan Originator, Kim Escarra is Branch Manager and Loan Originator with Nations Reliable Lending (NRL).  She has been doing mortgages in the State of Florida for over 30 years.  She loves to help people and make things happen.  Her experience,  knowledge and God’s grace allows her to help people buy or keep their homes..  If it can be done she will find a way.

Florida SBDC to Host Annual Access to Capital Fair

FORT MYERS, Fla.- The Florida Small Business Development Center (FSBDC) at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) will host the third annual 2016 Access to Capital Fair, Thursday, July 21 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Holiday Inn, Fort Myers Airport, 9931 Interstate Commerce Dr. The event is free and a light breakfast will be provided.
