Big Reuse Big ReLaunch
Big Reuse was New York City's first non-profit retail outlet for salvaged and surplus building materials. Our reuse centers have everything from panel doors to high end refrigerators, window shutters to reclaimed lumber, kitchen cabinet sets to salvaged flooring.
In 2006, Build it Green opened its first store in Astoria, NY. There was nothing like it in NYC, until 2011, when we opened our second store in Gowanus. Build It Green became a beloved part of the community.
In 2014, Build It Green lost its parent company. Fearing closure, Executive Director Justin Green pulled a rabbit out of a hat and saved the company. But that meant donning a new name. We have the same Build It Green spirit, but with experience!
