River Tours Calm Water Volunteer Training 4/24/22 

Join us for this 3 hour calm water kayak and canoe training at Sycamore Island! At this training we will be going through the basics of volunteer and guide expectations, how the calm water trips will run with the public, water safety information, loading and unloading the trailers, kayaking and canoeing basics, and specific calm water kayak games. The trip will end at approximately 5:00 pm.

We will be meeting at the Sycamore Island Bait Shop (39664 Ave 7 1/2 Madera, CA) at 2:00 pm.  Please dress appropriately for a day on the water, including: a hat, sunscreen, clothing and shoes that can get wet (NO FLIP FLOPS! Sandals must have backs), and a water bottle. We will have a dry bag for car keys and other small, essential items.

Volunteers assist with loading and unloading the boat trailers and group management on the water.  Volunteers are asked to commit to assist with at least one trip per month (though less trips may be assigned).  All volunteers must have a valid drivers license and their own vehicle (or access to a vehicle), be able to climb a ladder, and be able to lift 40 lbs.
