Dr. Yara Salman is a Los Angeles based psychiatrist who works with chronically medically ill patients.

Her experience with patients with cancer inspired her to co-write, with her friend-journalist Viera Lipcak, a book of interviews with cancer survivors mixed with Dr.Salman's expert advice on how to deal with common psychological challenges encountered when dealing with such a serious and impactful illness.
