TOPIC:  Neuropsych Testing- What it is and What Does it DO?

 Neuropsychological testing is an objective and standardized measure of cognitive functions such as attention, concentration and memory which are common complaints of claimants who are reporting concussions. However, sometimes those common complaints can be attributed to other causes such as pre existing cognitive deficits, pain, emotional distress and possibly "overstating their case". Determining the validity of the complaints and causation as well as actual deficits is the purpose of testing. This presentation will provide an understanding of when to refer and what to expect from a neuropsychological screen and full evaluation.
