Register a youth-adult team for this summit if you would like answers to these questions:

  • What does it look and sound like when young people  partner with adults as they shape their educational experience?
  • How can we learn from other schools engaged in similar work to elevate student voice?
  • What are our next steps to address the youth-adult relationship in our school, ensuring that both power and responsibility in learning and education are shared?

This conference is for high school students, teachers, administrators, school board members, or other individuals partnering in school change efforts.

Overview of the Day

What will the day include? Take part in the morning  interactive “Sharing Sessions” to redefine the realm of possibility. You will be informed and inspired by stories of schools around Vermont where young people have been partnering with adults to shape all aspects of their schools - classroom learning, behavior management, innovative governance structures, continuous improvement efforts….and more. Following a networking lunch, participants are invited to receive feedback on a dilemma they’ve chosen to share,  or to join a workshop or table discussion to explore the means to be part of current Vermont change efforts. The day will be bookended with all participants contributing to crafting a collective vision of how we can fully mobilize both youth and adults, harnessing power2 to create the schools of tomorrow...today!

You will sign up for workshop sessions when you check in at the summit. Workshops will be limited to 25 participants.

Afternoon Consultancies

Are you struggling with a dilemma related to your youth-adult partnership work that you'd like to receive feedback on at Power2?  Share a brief description during registration and you'll be paired with a facilitator who will guide a small group process designed to surface participants' best thinking about your dilemma.  If you're not sure what question you might bring to the group, this information can help you think through the possibilities.
