NeSSA's 2022 Fall Retreat
Join the Northeast Self Storage Association for our annual Fall Retreat at the always-popular Publick House!
Begin your morning mingling with sponsors and other self storage owners and managers over breakfast. We will begin the day's education with a panel discussing how you can take advantage of our industry's current success, plus what potential issues to be on the lookout for. We'll then touch on marketing before breaking for lunch and more networking. The day will wrap with an update on Connecticut's lien law changes, Rhode Island's insurance bill success, and legislative war stories from SSA's Joe Doherty.

1:00 PM - How Operators Benefit from Northeast and National Legislative Successes with Joe Doherty, Self Storage Association
SSA's Senior Vice President, Chief Legal & Legislative Officer Joe Doherty will provide us with an update on this year's legislative successes in the northeast. He will explain the various changes in Connecticut's lien law that went into effect on July 1st, as well as a refresher on how the state taxes fees and what you can be doing to avoid troublesome audits.
Joe will also discuss Rhode Island's successful insurance bill which will take effect January 1st, and address the issues we ran into trying to update their lien law this year. Finally, he will sprinkle in a few national updates and legislative war stories that are sure to entertain all.
