Teacher Name

Laura A. Marks is a local artist who lives in West Hartford.  She obtained her BA in Visual Arts from Eastern CT State University in 1989 and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of Hartford in 2001.  Laura became a Certified Zentangle Teacher in April, 2016.  Laura feels that the Zentangle method is a nice combination of her two fields of study, art and counseling, as she can express herself through her art while sharing a method she loves to others who may need it to soothe anxieties, relieve stress, enhance their creativity or just make something unique and beautiful.

Laura teaches Zentangle through the Art for Healing Program of Hartford Hospital and also teaches through the Towns of West Hartford, Simsbury and Farmington, the Farmington Valley Arts Center, the New Milford, Chicopee, West Hartford, Bloomfield and Newington public libraries, University of Hartford, Yale University as well as local places of worship and school systems.  She has also taught the Zentangle method to large groups for professional development and/or team building purposes.  In addition, Laura teaches many online classes to the public throughout the year.
