US Resiliency Council Policy Summit

The US Resiliency Council (USRC) and partners invite you to join leaders in resilience policy to define, establish, and share strategies to reduce the impacts of natural disaster and climate on existing buildings.

Scheduled for October 16, 2019 the Summit will be held at the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The goals of the Summit are to:

  • Identify market, social, economic, environmental, technical, and other drivers that are adding momentum to and synergistic with the creation of seismic and climate resilience policy.
  • Explore intersecting government policies that address resilience to both chronic stresses and acute shocks.
  • Document and share best practice policies that have been successfully adopted to improve resilience through both voluntary and mandatory programs such as the adoption of resilience-based codes and standards; government investment; market stimulus; and lending, insurance and tax incentivization.
  • Develop actionable resilience strategies through collaboration with colleagues and risk and resilience leaders.

Who should attend?

  • Public sector risk and resilience policy makers at the local, state, federal and provincial level.
