2013 Friends of Lory Trail Day

Thanks for the great response to this event.  We have reached the maximum number of registrants that we can handle and registration is now closed.  If you weren't able to sign up for this event, please consider volunteering for other Overland events or contact Lory State Park directly to find out how you can help them in the future

Lory State Park is the best kept secret in Northern Colorado... Do you love Lory? I love Lory. Maybe you do not yet know Lory as intimately as you might like. There are so many things to love, and Lory gives to us all so willingly her ribbons of single-track, challenges for riders of all abilities, and she’s so close! Always there for you. And she never ever complains. Now, more than ever, Lory needs our help. The Galena Fire caused a lot of damage, but Lory is on the mend and we can help speed that process along.

So, it’s time to give some love back... which really means just another day of fun with friends, food, and some wonderfully rewarding trail work.  Let’s keep this love affair healthy.

On April 27th  from 8:30am to 1:00pm we are having our best Friends of Lory Trail Day ever! Overland Mountain Bike Club is teaming up with Lory State Park to give some attention to these beautiful trails and to keep this relationship vibrant.

Here’s the agenda: work and eat. This is not brain surgery, so we expect to see you out there no matter what your trail knowledge.

Proposed projects:  The work areas have yet to be determined, but be assured that we will be doing whatever we can to help bring Lory back to her pre-fire greatness.

Overland Mountain Bike Club will have the hand-made Biker’s Barb-b-que pit fired up serving delicious eats. There will be gifts and schwag from our partners. Sign up early and reserve your place now!

In 2011 hundreds of volunteers participated throughout the summer to build about 80% of the trail. Overland MTB Club is working in conjunction with the US Forest Service and Wildlands Restoration Volunteers (WRV) to provide a significant number of volunteers in order to see this project to completion. We need you! There's only 20% of trail construction that stands between youY
