A Staged Reading
Join us for a staged reading of Little Red Wagon, a one-act play by JoAnn Stevelos and directed by Joanna Palladino.
This production stars Samantha Barnhart, Jen Dubois, Noah Fowler, Lauren Glover, Gary Maggio, and Rone Shavers, and features live music by NEQ.
Little Red Wagon presents a family's response, after many years, to the loss of one of its members--a political activist--by suicide. Layers of grief tether the family to one another in conspiratorial silence. Although set at the beginning of this century, the play speaks to themes at play in today's headlines and civic life. Stevelos says she wrote the play to explore what it means to be an activist and how to prevent activists from becoming overwhelmed and heartbroken by the sheer number of issues that demand action at any time.
Little Red Wagon is part of an anthology by Stevelos, Dream Alibis. A portion of proceeds from book sales will help fund production costs and efforts to support activists. Dream Alibis is available on Amazon or Facebook, and will be available at the performance.
An award-winning author, JoAnn Stevelos has worked to improve the wellbeing of children and families for more than 20 years.
