Everything You Need To Know About Planning Your Gay or Lesbian Wedding

(But Didn't Know Whom To Ask)

Now that same sex marriage is legally recognized in the Washington, D.C. area, gay and lesbian couples are anxious to learn more about how to do everything from creating a private civil marriage ceremony to planning a dream wedding with all the bells and whistles. For those couples, this gay and lesbian wedding planning seminar is not to be missed!

All couples -- from those who are recently engaged to those who have been together for years and have already planned one wedding ceremony, but now want a marriage license -- will find indispensable planning information in this seminar, not to mention a few special culinary accompaniments (including an introductory hour of conversation, champagne and passed hors d'oeuvres) courtesy of the talented Chef Thevoz of Main Event Caterers.

The evening's sponsor, Main Event Caterers (Catering Magazine's, 2010 Caterer of the Year), has proudly served the LGBT community for 15 years and is excited to share its expertise and resources with the newly engaged gay and lesbian couples in the D.C. area. To answer the questions of the many couples who have done the easy part (applied for licenses), but now want to get married (the harder part!), Main Event Caterers is pleased to host an engaging and memorable evening of nosh, libation and wedding education. On the evening of May 4, 2010 at HRC's Equality Center, an Expert Panel will offer an overview of the pitfalls, tips & tricks in planning a gay or lesbian wedding and will answer your many questions. All attendees will leave with a clear understanding of the road ahead and a map from which to draw upon during the course of their wedding planning.

The Expert Panel is scheduled to include as moderator and presenter, Washington's own pioneering gay & lesbian wedding expert, Kathryn Hamm of GayWeddings.com; award-winning Chef d' Cuisine, Joel Thevoz of Main Event Caterers; an ordained non-denominational minister, A.C. Warden of Capital Ceremonies; experienced event planner and Executive VP of Main Event Caterers, Nancy Goodman; and nationwide expert on LGBT family law, Susan Silber of Silber, Perlman, Sigman & Tilev, P.A.

Though the night's experts and hosts are donating their valuable time and resources to this grand event, a $20 donation per couple will be requested in order to secure your registration. Donations will be given to support the invaluable efforts of the Human Rights Campaign.

Please join us for this momentous event and be confident in planning the wedding of your dreams!

Registration closes on May 3, 2010 and space is limited to 40 couples.
