Our volunteer opportunities include:

• The Book Den (location shown on map), where we accept gently used donated books, sort them and sell them in the Book Den store and at monthly Warehouse Sales. We also operate our Amazon and eBay sales of used books at the Book Den.
• Our 28 Branch Friends groups who support their local Library branch through book sales and other special events.
• Our System Board consisting of 15 Board Members or by serving on a specific committee.
• Book First is a program sponsored by the Friends in which the Sacramento Public Library gives a free book to every 1st Grader in over 170 classrooms in Sacramento County. In addition to paying for this program, the Friends provide volunteers to sort the books and distribute them. The sorting dates are currently scheduled for October 14 at the Rancho Cordova Library, October 16 at the Southgate Library, October 23 at the North Highlands Library, and October 26 at the South Natomas Library. Classroom visits begin late in the year and continue through the Spring.
