Present: 2017 Golf & Spa Event

The 2017 South Texas RIMS Chapter Golf & Spa Event will be held Wednesday, September 20th (Mixer) and Thursday, September 21st at the beautiful JW Marriott Resort & Spa in San Antonio, Texas.  This year's Presenting Sponsor is AON.  The Event will kick off with a mixer for all sponsors, participants and chapter members at 5:30 p.m. on the 20th at the High Velocity Sports Bar located on the lower level of the Lobby.  The golf and spa events will begin with registration at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 21st with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.  All golfers will have access to the practice range and an opportunity to participate in the 7:45 a.m. chipping/putting contest.

We are once again offering participation in our SUPER TICKET!  The optional $30 donation will get each participant two mulligans, five additional door prize tickets and entry into the closest-to-pin and longest drive contests.  The SUPER TICKET also serves as a scratch-off contest.  The participant with the lowest total score on the scratch-off card wins a prize.  All of the proceeds from the SUPER TICKET sales will be donated to the Spencer Education Foundation.

While some will be hitting the links, others will enjoy a wonderful spa experience at the Lantana Spa.  Those participants signing up for a Spa sponsorship should arrange their spa schedule though our Lantana Spa Coordinator, Easton Dillehay at Easton.Dillehay@marriott.com or 210 491-5834.

Our event will conclude with a 1:00p.m. lunch buffet and awards reception for all golf and spa participants at the High Velocity Sports Bar.

This annual event is the Chapter's sole source of funding for its support of the education in the risk and insurance management professions.  In doing so, South Texas RIMS supports the Risk Management program at the Bill Greehey School of Business at St. Mary's University.  St. Mary's University is the only University in the South Texas region to have a degree program to include Risk Management.  Also, the Chapter supports the Spencer Education Foundation.   Because of our generous sponsors at last year's Chapter Event, the Chapter was able to donate $18,000 to St Mary's and $2,000 to Spencer.
