Once again, the Geology Alumni Society in collaboration with SWFWMD is hosting a PSM Internship Symposium to provide the opportunity for students completing the USF Geology Professional Science Masters Program an opportunity to discuss the results of their internship projects carried out with a local company/agency sponsor. This semester there will be three such presentations the evening of Tuesday April 19 2016, at the Tampa Bay Offices of SWFWMD. The presentations will be about 20 minutes each, and, if recent history is any guide, each will be followed by an extensive period of vigorous questions and discussion. Light refreshments will be provided before the start of the presentations. The light refreshments (reception) will start around 6 and the program (introductions and presentations) will start around 7. Allowing for post-program mixing, the event will end by 9.
Below are the student names, their internship sponsors, and the titles of their presentations.
Lindsey Romine. Internship project with Mike Schackne and Larry Maron, S&ME Inc. “Identification of Foulants in Remediation Systems”
Frances Champagne. Internship project with Don Ellison, SWFWMD. “Set up and Analysis of a Water Budget Model”
Jon Ouverson. Internship project with Amanda Berens, CH2 M Hill, “Optimization of Hydraulic Containment of Contaminated Groundwater through Numerical Simulation of Discrete Well Systems”
