Career Exploration
This summer institute explores career opportunities for students with an expressed interest in the helping professions, including counseling, social work, psychology and psychiatry. Designed by Drexel's Behavioral Health Counseling Department, this summer institute provides students with the opportunity to broaden their understanding of the mental health and addictions treatment fields by participating in hands-on learning experiences. The five day programming includes: site visits to treatment agencies, guest speakers, interactive workshops, and the utilization of the College of Nursing and Health Professions' state-of-the-art counseling simulation lab.
Program Agenda
Each day includes a unique morning and afternoon session that exposes students to various practices within the field of behavioral healthcare. Sessions includes guest speakers, site visits and the opportunity to practice newly acquired counseling skills in our state-of-the-art Counseling Simulation Lab.
Parents and guardians are invited to attend a closing reception that culminates the week's activities.
