The Building Mentoring Skills for an Academic Career certificate program will be held at Cornell on five spring Tuesdays from 12:00-2:00 pm. Sponsored by the CIRTL at Cornell program, it is based on a highly regarded national curriculum.
Prepare to be a great supervisor to your summer research students and/or to effectively mentor graduate, undergraduate, and postdoctoral students as a future professor. Join a motivated cohort of graduate students and postdocs in Spring 2019, and receive a certificate for attending and participating in at least 4 of 5 sessions (dates: 2/5, 2/19, 3/5, 3/19, 4/9).
All sessions will be in person and practical in nature and will feature short pre-readings or videos, discussion with faculty/staff panelists, and self-assessments to identify your strengths and desired areas for improvement. The location for the sessions will be sent upon acceptance into the program.
