Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery - Avoiding the Catastrophic Complications

This presentation is designed to teach dentists about identifying and avoiding surgical complications from oral surgery. Based on the broad scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, the lecture will focus on: dentoalveolar surgery, infection and infection management, medically-compromised patients, and dental implants.

In this session, attendees will:

  • Learn the fundamental principles that give guidance to minimize complications in the areas mentioned
  • Review specific case reports of patients
  • Learn areas of catrastrophic complications in each of the areas mentioned
