The Journey to Now | February 24th at 3pm.

Welcome to the February 2021 NKBA SoCal Meeting! Free of charge.

We’ve partnered with Pacific Sales to host a virtual panel discussion -- a chance to hear from designers and tradespeople in our industry who have "been there, done that."

Check out our panel:

Joanna Osborne, Store Manager of Pacific Sales Escondido

Growing up, Joanna Osborne watched her mother, an architect/interior designer, improve function, aesthetics, and safety of everyday spaces for her clients. She saw how her mother's work influenced lives and contributed to the overall well-being of the families she assisted.

Today, Osborne's mission is to positively impact the world, enrich people's lives through design and technology and contribute to the common good. This mission aligns with the vision of Pacific Sales: being able to offer clients the full home experience within home theater, appliances, smart home, and plumbing.

Laurie Haefele, Haefele Design

Industry recognition and awards in abundance have been bestowed upon Laurie Haefele, associated member AIA, and member of NKBA, ASID and ICAA. Armed with degrees in architectural design and its history and theory, she has been using her training to create upscale kitchen, boutique wardrobe and luxury bath designs since 1997.

In 2002, Haefele launched her own firm, Santa Monica based Haefele Design Inc. and the accolades began mounting soon after.

Haefele is a regular speaker at events such as the NKBA SoCal and Dwell on Design, previously a professor at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. Her work has appeared in over 50 magazine articles, as well as on many episodes of HGTV's "Kitchen Trends." Recently, Haefele was featured on Extra T.V.'s "Mansions and Millionaires."

Rick Campos, Design Biz Survival Guide

Rick Campos is a professional interior designer with over ten years of experience in the design industry. A graduate of Interior Designers Institute in Newport Beach, CA, Rick worked his way through the ranks by working at a design trade showroom and then as a design assistant for a notable interior design firm before launching his own design business and retail boutique in 2007. Formerly Director of Business Development for a notable design firm, his daily interactions with architects, builders, vendors and clients contributes to a broad perspective of the design industry.

Campos is an Allied Member of ASID and served as the Orange County Chapter President in 2012. He remains engaged in the design community through ASID Orange County and has held numerous volunteer positions. Campos is honored to be a part of the faculty at his alma mater, Interior Designers Institute, where he presents a quarterly lecture focused on Effective Networking as part of the degree program.

 And our host: Shaun Ayala

Shaun Ayala is a Marketing Manager for Best Buy and leads the Marketing Strategy and a Creative Team for Luxury Appliances and Decorative Plumbing. Shaun has been in the Kitchen & Bath Industry for over a decade learning about the latest products, trends and innovations. As a member of many communities like NKBA, ASID, AIA and others, his goal is to find opportunities to partner and give back what he has learned over the years to help others within the community to fulfill their design vision.

Shaun is also a content creator, an award winning storyteller, and has been a speaker at various industry events talking about his philosophies on Social Media, Video, Branding and more.
