About Joe:
As the Director of Community and Civic Engagement at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, I provide a range of services that help connect students to our community. Working with both students and employers, I assist with internships, federal work study, volunteering, AmeriCorps, and voter registration. Prior to joining Coe as the Internship Specialist in 2016, I worked primarily in nonprofit Human Resources Management with The Arc of East Central Iowa, UIHC, and Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. As the husband of a professional fundraiser, I'm familiar with some of the challenges nonprofit organizations may face when working to fulfill the mission of their respective organizations and hope partnering with local colleges and universities can help you achieve your goals.

Pathways for College Students in the Nonprofit Sector
Join us in person for lunch and the February educational program, Pathways for College Students in the Nonprofit Sector, presented by Joe Demerest of Coe College.
We will discuss the various pathways available to nonprofit organizations to drive engagement with college students. Topics will include internships, research projects, volunteering, AmeriCorps, and Federal Work Study. We will also discuss different avenues available to employers in order to connect with various campus groups and organizations.
The session will be held at Hills Bank - North Liberty.
Lunch will be served at 11:30 A.M.
Presentation will begin at 12:00 P.M.
