Course Abstract:
Motivational Interviewing is an evidence-based practice that has been used in a variety of settings and populations, including in mental health, substance abuse, medical field, and corrections. Due to its person-centered, strength-based approach in increasing a person's own motivations, Motivational Interviewing is an ideal theory and practice to use with adolescents with behavioral issues as well as substance use.
