Presenting: "ADDICTED TO PERFECTION: HELPING CLIENTS LET GO OF IMPOSSIBLE STANDARDS"

Addiction can take many forms, and sometimes clients struggle with multiple addictions. One of the most common, particularly among women, is to alternate a chemical addiction with an eating disorder, with one or the other in the forefront at any given time. This creates challenges for clinicians and clients alike. Underneath every addiction is the drive for perfection. Addressing this fundamental issue will assist clients in movingt oward a more lasting recovery.

Course Objectives:

  • Participants will identify the ways in which perfectionism contributes to addiction.
  • Participants will understand the link between chemical addictions and rating disorders.
  • Participants will apply this understanding to current case treatment plans.

This course meets the quali­fications for one hour continuing education credit for MFT’s, LPCC’s, LEP’s, and/or LCSW’s required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), provider number  PCE5216.

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP16424, for one ontact hour.
