About the Speaker:
Theresa J. Thorpe is a manager in the Customer Satisfaction and Warranty Department in the Quality Division at Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TMNA). Theresa has been employed with Toyota since 1997.
From 1997-2019, Theresa’s was responsible for leading & supporting material quality assurance activities for paint, sealers, adhesives, fluids, leather, and fabric. This includes new material introduction management, problem handling, inspection planning and supplier improvement.
Currently, Theresa is responsible for promoting Customer Satisfaction (CS) improvement through leadership of cross-functional customer focused activity.
Prior to Toyota, she held technical positions with the Environmental Protection Agency Cooperative Program, DuPont Automotive Paint Systems and Michigan Wastewater Treatment Facility. A graduate of Fisk University, she earned her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Chemistry.
Theresa is a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS), National Society of Black Engineers (NBSE), American Society for Quality (ASQ) and the DFW Fisk Alumni Club. She was a YMCA Black Achievers recipient in 2001 and Who’s Who in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2010. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching westerns, participating in church activities, and traveling with family. She and her husband Richard have three children. Richard (Bray) Jr. and twins Arriyian and Arreia’l.
