Justice in the Body Productions presents a unique summer series offering you incredible homegrown talent on a beautiful Friday evening off the back porch of our co.director Shannyn Vicente house. BYOB and we'll provide simple nosh!

About Monique Barrett:

The impact of Monique's music can perhaps best be described by a fan – “There’s something about [her] voice that reaches deep into my core and pulls my heart out through my ears.” Drawing inspiration from artists such as Nina Simone, Bill Withers, and Carole King, her tunes range from toe-tapping, to heartbreaking, to simply lovely. With a unique soul-folk sound, a powerful voice, and an organic, yet well-honed, songwriting style she has firmly established herself as a force in Portland, Maine's flourishing music community.
