Sharing Best Practice

9.00 am - 12.30 pm

Campus Perth,‘The Commons’ Function Room, Level 6

ABOUT WORKSHOP 2:

This session is a follow on from Workshop 1 of the series - Mental Health Well-being Awareness: Enhancing General Understanding

This workshop builds on the knowledge gained in Workshop 1 and introduces expert practitioners who will share best practice and innovations in mental health well-being Policy & Procedure, Communication Strategies and Student Support.

In this 3.5 hour workshop you will join break-out groups where you will review your own understanding of mental health well-being and consider what best practice might look like within your own work setting.  You will undertake self-assessment and develop an action plan.

Workshop Outcomes:
  • To provide participants the opportunity to consider what mental health well-being best practice might look like in an educational context
  • To increase awareness of the mental health challenges students face, and to hear about current and relevant strategies and processes to monitor and refer students in need, including external support channels
  • To empower participants through a self-assessment and action planning process for flow-on activities to better care for and assist students
  • To add value to the student experience and enhance the supportive study environment Perth has to offer
