James River District Lay Servant Training (BASIC COURSE) - Richard Speirs, Instructor 

This Basic Course will help participants discover and employ their spiritual gifts and will help persons in discerning God's call for ministry. Participants are invited to consider the importance of exercising servant leadership, developing future leaders, remaining rooted in consistent spiritual practices, and being part of a group that holds members accountable in their discipleship.

Books are available at Cokesbury or Amazon, and participants must submit a pre-class assignment prior to the class. Please read the book and email a 1-2 page paper describing your personal call to serve God to richard.speirs@yahoo.com. There will also be a post-class assignment.
