In particular:

AM Session: Sharing Our Practices, Experiences and Observations: Participants are encouraged to reflect on their approach to incorporating Power + Systems concepts, methods and practices into their personal and professional lives prior to attending the conference. During a facilitated two-hour morning session each person will be invited to answer the following questions:

What issues, patterns, or experiences do you notice in your organisation(s) in regard to Power + Systems work? What experiences have you had with Power+Systems work with younger, flatter, more distributed organisations? What are you noticing in your practice in terms of sector-specific issues, barriers and opportunities where Power+Systems offerings can help? What are some of the best practices you have seen in: a) embedding Power + Systems work into internal leadership development programs; b) supporting live project work in organizations; and/or c) large group or all-staff meetings? How has the OW and/or WCM work affected your life & influenced your practice? Or has it? If not, how come?

PM Session: Dialogic OD and the Connection to Power+Systems Principles:

Dr. Gervase Bushe, author of Clear Leadership and Dialogic Organization Development: The Theory and Practice of Transformational Change, will lead participants through activities and conversations about the ways Dialogic OD principles and Power+Systems principles can inform each other and point to new ways of taking action.

15 September: Power+Systems Global Trainer Gathering Day Two –

Building on the topics and emerging issues identified during the first day of the gathering, participants will self-select into two concurrent sessions of their choosing. Some topics will emerge from the process with attendees at the end of the first day, while others have been chosen in advance of the gathering based on trainer input from around the globe.

Some innovative, pre-determined concurrent session offerings are:

Asynchronous and Distributed Delivery of an Organization Workshop: Using a structured Design Thinking methodology, 3 trainers have been collaborating to develop a proposed means of facilitating an OW in a virtually enabled, asynchronous way. A storyboard of OW processes will be presented and trainers will be invited to ask questions, provide ideas, and provide direct input and reflections on the implications of this method of delivery.

Best Practices in Embedding Power+Systems Work into Organizations: Trainers work in many different settings, organizations and contexts. This session builds on the discussions from the morning of the first day. Participants will be invited to share and learn from one another in this self-organized session, successful strategies for bringing Power+Systems offerings to market.

Practical Strategies for Design Variations: Many trainers, OD consultants and facilitators use a variety of ways to help their constituent groups learn the concepts and strategies associated with Power+Systems models and methods. This session affords participants the opportunity to self-organize and share how they modify the full certification designs (i.e. 2-day OW, 1-day WCM) to suit the needs of the client organization or participant groups.

Opportunities in the Middle: Trainers have raised the oft-overlooked power and possibilities of helping others lead from the middle. Some trainers have oriented their practice or programs to pursue the value proposition of leading from the middle. In this session, participants interested in exploring this topic will self-organize and share their ideas and practices about how to tap into the potential middle integration holds. Bring ideas, agendas and examples to share and others will do the same!

Connecting with Great Colleagues

Our community of trainers and practitioners around the globe is growing. Come break bread and meet colleagues both familiar and new in a beautiful setting.

In addition to a hosted Meet+Greet on Wednesday, Sept 13th at 6:00 PM, participants will have an opportunity to dine together on site, and at a hosted dinner on Thursday Sept 14th at 6PM.

Granville Island is a fantastic space to go for a walk with a colleague as you build relationships, or to browse through the vibrant Granville Island Market and surrounding area. Many past attendees remark that connecting with like-minded, passionate colleagues has been a highlight of their experience.

We will also take this opportunity to connect with members of the Leadership Integration Team (LIT) whose mission is to carry the Soul and Methods of Power+Systems into the Future.

We hope to see you there!
