2016 KOA Spring Congress 

The 2016 KOA Spring Conference will be  April 28-30 at the Hyatt Hotel in Lexington, KY.  The KOA is offering 20 hours of continuing education for ODs.  There will be an exhibit hall during the meeting.  Food functions are included in the registration price.

This course will discuss the role of OCT in glaucoma diagnosis and management. OCT technology will be described and how it has evolved. A method to systematically evaluate printouts will be described.  The role of OCT in monitoring glaucoma over time will be discussed.

This multimedia course reviews the ins & outs of radiofrequency technology, including currently available instruments.  The indications and applications for radio frequency technology in both cosmetic & therapeutic ophthalmic conditions are presented, along with various techniques to treat dermatochalasis, blepharochalasis, entropion/ectropion repair, papilloma excision, eye lash follicle ablation, conjunctival nevus ablation, meibomian gland dysfunction, and others.

This course reviews in greater detail some of the newest and yet-to-be-approved diagnostic techniques, innovative therapeutic treatments & surgeries, and developing technologies in eye care.  The impact of these treatments and technologies on how eye care is delivered and on patient outcomes is discussed.  Specific emphasis is on the areas of glaucoma, cataracts, retinal disease (diabetic and non-diabetic), gene therapy, minor periocular & intraocular surgical procedures, & novel drug delivery methods.
