National Protest of Planned Parenthood

We are pleased to announce that the University of Akron Students for Life will be the sponsor to join with groups nationwide to hold a peaceful protest on the public sidewalks in front of the Akron Planned Parenthood (PP) facility THIS SATURDAY, February 11, 2017.  The protest will begin at 9am and last until 10:30am/ . This effort corresponds with protests taking place at PP abortion facilities all across America as part of the National Protest of Planned Parenthood (http://www.protestpp.com/) to urge our legislatiors to stop funding this abortion giant that kills 300,000 unborn human beings every year through abortion.  Abortion is NOT healthcare, and we should NOT be giving our hard earned dollars to them.

Planned Parenthood exaggerates their role in providing healthcare to women.  Defunding Planned Parenthood would not reduce funding for women’s health.

  • Every dollar taken from Planned Parenthood would be redirected to Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) that don’t provide abortions.
  • Nationwide, there are 13 times more FQHCs than Planned Parenthood centers, serving 8 times more clients.
  • FQHCs offer families a far wider range of services and a higher standard of care than Planned Parenthood.

PLEASE....won't you join us THIS SATURDAY (rain or shine) to pray and witness and show our community and our world that enough is enough!

We will have signs available for you to borrow if you don't have one of your own.

For parking, see the picture below.

There is very limited parking available near Planned Parenthood.  On street parking is available within a few blocks walk of Planned Parenthood.  It is indicated by the yellow lines on the map.   PLEASE NOTE that there are several one way streets in this area as indicated by the arrows on the map.  The dotted lines on the map indicate the locations for the protest.  You can take a position on either side of West Exchange.
