Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division Training: Suicide Prevention & Intervention
Content: Upon attending this training participants will gain information from the Suicide Prevention Health model based from the Suicide Prevention Resource Center. The facilitator will provide information on the nine strategies that form a comprehensive approach to suicide prevention and mental health promotion. Each strategy is a broad goal that can be advanced through an array of possible activities, programs, policies, practices, and services.
Facilitator: Brent Oto, MA, CPS is the current Suicide Prevention Program Manager for the Army Substance Abuse Program. He has worked with the military and civilian population for over 20 years. He has done numerous trainings and education services for the military members, civilians and families.
Target Audience: Certified Substance Abuse Counselors (CSAC), Certified Prevention Specialists (CPS), and applicants; those with other ADAD professional credentials; and anyone involved in the human services profession.
