April Chapter Meeting

The Chapter 179 Leadership Team is pleased to present Jim Elliott, Senior Homeland Security Analyst, Texas Office of Homeland Security who will be presenting on the use of protective intelligence, VIP Protection, & Overseas Travel for the private sector.

Jim Elliott is the Senior Homeland Security Analyst in the Texas Office of Homeland Security at the Texas Department of Public Safety.  His roles are comprised of consulting on analytical and technical processes relative to planning, developing, coordinating and implementing a variety of public safety and Homeland security programs and initiatives.  Additionally, he supports research and policy review efforts for leadership across the spectrum of Homeland security related endeavors.  Major emphasis areas include protective operations; executive protection; US federal law enforcement coordination; counterterrorism operations; watch and warning analysis; emergency management; continuity of operations; program management; the US Intelligence Community; and Islamist extremism.   

Mr. Elliott has over 25 years of experience in the military, law enforcement, intelligence, and security fields spanning global areas of operation.  His assignments included Vice President, Special Programs at SOC LLC managing international security programs for US Intelligence Community clients; Senior Program Manager / Analyst at BAE Systems Intelligence and Security responsible for secure facilities, international travel coordination and security, fleet operations, information technology support, and continuity of operations; Principal Program Manager, National Operations Center, DHS / CIA Liaison at General Dynamics responsible for programs encompassing: the DHS Secretary’s Briefing Staff, Homeland Security Incident Tracking Desk, the Law Enforcement Fusion Desk, and the Knowledge Management Desk; and the CIA Liaison desk at the National Operations; and Special Agent, Director of Central Intelligence Security Staff and Federal Law Enforcement Officer (FLEO) at the Central Intelligence Agency providing all levels of executive support emphasizing executive security to CIA leadership domestically and abroad, briefing principals on threat and security conditions, and overseeing law enforcement or protective operations.  In addition to service as a FLEO, Mr. Elliott is a US Army veteran having served with 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment as a member of Task Force Ranger in Mogadishu, Somalia in 1993. 

Mr. Elliott holds a Master of Arts in Political Science (International Relations) from George Mason University, a Master of Business Administration (Global Business Management) from American Military University, and has completed post graduate work in Public Relations at University of Virginia; Oil and Gas Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management, and doctoral work at the University of Southern Mississippi in International Development (Security Studies).  Mr. Elliott is a graduate of the CIA’s Protective Agent program, has completed the ASIS Executive Protection Program, and is an ASIS board certified security manager /Certified Protection Professional (CPP).

Prepaid Members:
Members who have prepaid meals for the entire year are automatically registered for every Monthly Chapter Meeting.  If you are unable to attend one of the monthly meetings - you can pass along your prepaid spot to a potential guest or colleague as long as they have paid their annual ASIS dues.
