Bodhicitta:

Awakening the Heart, Gladdening the Mind

 with Margo McLoughlin

The Pali word “Bodhicitta” means heart of awakening or awakened heart and refers to the deeper motivation that leads us to practice. Beyond finding some ease within the daily stresses of our human existence, we intuitively know that our ability to respond wisely and with compassion when faced with unexpected difficulties in life makes a difference in the world. Knowing that our practice is not just for ourselves can provide us with great motivation to deepen our understanding and through mindful action contribute to greater peace in the world.

Margo McLoughlin has been practicing in the Insight tradition of Theravada Buddhism since 1986. A former staff member at Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts and a graduate of the Harvard Divinity School, Margo has also completed her training to be a Community Dharma Leader through Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Woodacre, California. Her teachers include Joseph Goldstein, Carol Wilson, Thanissara, and Eugene Cash. For more information about Margo, please visit her website at  www.margostoryteller.net
