There will be two dana baskets set out at the retreat. One basket will be for you to offer dana for the teacher and a separate basket for organizational costs incurred by Victoria IMS. The suggested donation for organizational costs for this two-day event is $40. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Heather Martin, a resident of Salt Spring Island, has a long association with the Victoria Insight Meditation Society. Heather teaches classes and leads retreats in Canada and the US. Her early dharma practice was under the guidance of S.N. Goenka, and has since been influenced by both Burmese and Thai streams of Theravada, most recently studying with U Tejaniya of Burma. Heather’s approach to life and her style of teaching for the past 15 years is led by her heart – warm and compassionate. She is curious, practical, has a ready laugh and is a great communicator.
